Everything you need to know: About Tags

Money in. Money out. And....repeat. Every month the spin cycle of earning, spending and saving is reset, but where on earth is all your money going? If you've been keeping up to date with our new Feature Spotlight series, you'll be familiar with the ways that Yolt can show you your Total Balance across all accounts, what you have Left to spend after bills, and even how to Budget your hard earned cash. But, we're super excited to walk you through our most personalised feature for tracking your spending: customisable Tagging!

What's all the hype about?

You can now take complete control – and artistic license – over how you organise your transactions with tags! Not only can you track your transactions according to our set categories, but you can tag and filter them with your own personalised labels. After all, your work trip to Didcot and your dream trip to Japan are two very different kinds of travel – and so are the expenditures that come with them! You can use tags to categorise anything from wedding expenses to pet purchases and then filter them in one view to keep track!

How do I get started?

There are two ways to tag a transaction. Both begin in the Transactions tab on the timeline view. The first way is to tap on a specific transaction and add your hashtag in the notes section. The second option (which comes in handy for tagging a bunch of transactions at once) is to tap the pencil icon in the top right corner and select the transaction(s) you'd like to tag. Immediately the pencil icon will transform into a tag icon which, once tapped, will lead you to the 'New Tag' screen. Type in your tag name, hit next and you're all set. You'll be able to view all tags in the Tag view (also found in the Transactions tab) as well as a running total for how much you have spent (or earned) per Tag. So, put that calculator down and get ready to start tagging - The more you tag, the better your Yolt experience

What's your most popular tag? Have an idea that will make Yolt even better? Please share them with us hello@yolt.com. We can’t wait to hear from you!
