Yolt is the multi award-winning app that makes managing money, easy. At the forefront of innovation enabled by PSD2 and powered by open banking technology, our smart thinking money app gives users a clear overview of their connected bank accounts, credit cards and spending together in one place. After launching in the UK June 2017, then France and Italy in we quickly reached 1,5 million registered users; giving them all the tools to spend smart, save smart and reach their goals.

Our Data team
At Yolt, data plays a key role in understanding our customers and improving our products. You will join a group of dedicated Decision Scientists to support decision making with advanced data analysis, on topics such as retention, churn and usage. On the technical side, you’ll work in close collaboration with the Data Platform team, which provides a secure self-service AWS cloud data infrastructure. On the business side, you’ll join one of the business teams, which are responsible for delivering the Yolt app and YTS products.
What you’ll be doing
As a Decision Scientist, you collect, refine, conduct and communicate the results of data analytics projects to support product decision making.
Having strong business acumen, you proactively identify and advise on analytics use cases within the business. Herein, you are not afraid to challenge stakeholders and surface the question behind the question. You can quickly learn a new domain, gain an understanding of what the data means, and promote data stewardship within the organization. Building on your strong analytical skills and solid background in statistics, you excel in answering the right questions with data. Moreover, you are eager to work on the more advanced topics, such as causal inference, forecasting, churn modelling, fraud detection, user behaviour segmentation and marketing mix modelling. Knowing what makes a good data visualization, you are able to convincingly present results or build effective dashboards for your stakeholders. Python and SQL are your preferred programming languages, and if we’re talking big data, you know your way around Spark. You want to work with the latest AWS cloud technologies, such as QuickSight, Athena, SageMaker, Jupyter notebooks and Glue. When you need specific data or tooling, you reach out to the Data Engineers and get the job done. In addition, you are always keen to help others, and able to identify and grasp opportunities to improve processes.
You and the other Decision Scientists are members of the Data Science Chapter, together with our Machine Learning Engineers. Within the chapter, we foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning, focusing on coaching and personal development for you to grow to the next level in your career. To learn and get inspired, you regularly attend meetups, conferences and internal sessions. Here, you are also given the opportunity to showcase your work that ultimately enables Yolt users to spend and save smarter.
What you’ll need
- A proven track record in producing data-driven insights with an impact on business decisions
- A master’s degree or PhD in a quantitative field
- Good social and communication skills
- Proficient English speaking and writing skills
- A solid theoretical foundation in statistics
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
