How to refresh accounts and sync

Know where you’re at with your money by refreshing your accounts in Yolt. There are two simple ways to do this— watch our video or read the step by step below it.

Option 1: Initiate a manual refresh by heading to the “Accounts” tab and “pull down to refresh”.

OR

Option 2: You can set up “sync on start”, this will sync your account every time you log in to Yolt.

To do this, head to the “More” tab and toggle on the “Sync on Start” button.

How to set a budget

There are 21 different budgets, or spending categories, in Yolt, so you can organise and track your spending just as you see fit.

To get started, watch our video, or read the step by step below it.

1. Head to the `Actions` Tab

2. Tap `Set & track your budgets`

3. Select the `+` icon

4. Choose the category in which you want to set a budget

5. You can then use the `+` & `-` icons to set your budget limit (choose an amount to the nearest £5)

6. Once you’ve chosen an amount for your budget, tap `Set`

Your budget should now be added to the Budgets list!

How to re-categorise a transaction

Want to move all those morning coffees out of the ‘eating out’ category and into ‘coffee’? No problem! It’s easy to re-catgeorise your transactions, whether it’s one or one hundred.

To get started, watch our video, or read the step by step below it.

1. Tap the “transactions” tab

2. Find the transaction and tap on it to open the transaction details page

3. From here you can view the current category the transaction is organised into

4. To change this, tap “Change” and you’ll be prompted to select a new category

5. Then, tap either

‘Apply to similar transactions’ to organise this transaction plus similar ones from the past and future in the new category

or

‘Apply to just one transaction’ to simply change this individual transaction (and none from the past/ future)

How to set up payday

Payday – it might just be the best day of the month! Set yours up in Yolt so you know what you’ve got left to spend from one payday to the next.

To get started, watch our video, or read the step by step below it.

To set yours up, simply navigate to the “More” tab and tap on “set up payday”. From here, there are two options: either Yolt spots your salary or not, in which case we will ask you a few extra questions.

If Yolt spots your salary:

1. You’ll see a list of transactions that could potentially be your salary.

2. Tap your salary transaction, and in the future Yolt will recognise this as Payday.

note: Yolt will only recognise salary payments that appear for at least 3 months (prior payments).

If Yolt doesn’t spot your salary:

You’ll be given the option to choose when your salary will be paid into your account. You can choose from a range of options such as around the beginning or end of the month or even select a specific day of the month you get paid.

How to add a new subscription

From heating to streaming, keep track of all the money going out of your accounts each month with our helpful subscriptions tool.

To get started, watch our video, or read the step by step below it.

1. Head to the “Actions” tab and tap on “Monitor bills and subscriptions”.

2. Tap the “+” on the right-hand side of the screen.

3. Yolt will then display a list of bills and subscriptions for you to add.

Don’t see a subscription or bill? You can manually add a transaction to this list, just head over to the “Transactions” tab:

1. Find the transaction and tap on it to open the transaction detail page.

2. Next, tap on the 3 dots icon on the top-right hand corner of the screen and select “mark as subscription”.

3. This transaction will now be in your list of bills and subscriptions and you can now head back to the “Monitor bills and subscriptions” list to set a renewal date.

How to hide accounts

If you want to hide one or more accounts from your money overview for a more streamlined view, it only takes a few steps.

1. Head over to the “Accounts” tab

2. On the top-left hand corner of the screen, tap the pencil icon or ‘Edit’

3. Select which accounts you want to hide / unhide

4. Tap ‘done’

How to recover your account

If you get a new phone, or reinstall Yolt, you can pick up right where you left off.

All you need is your recovery code (which is found in Yolt on your old phone) and access to the phone number you first registered with (we will send a verification SMS to this number).

Simply download Yolt and tap ‘Already got an account?’ and follow the steps

To get your recovery code:
Your recovery code is a 16-character code that you need to store safely somewhere before you reinstall or log back in to your Yolt account.

Follow these simple steps to make sure you can recover your account later:

1. Head over to the "More" tab

2. Tap on 'Get recovery code'

3. Enter your PIN

4. Make a note of your 16-character recovery code

5. Store it in a safe place (not on your phone)

Remember:

If you want to recover your account, you’ll need access to the phone number you first registered with (we will send a verification SMS to this number)

How to add Starling Bank

Adding Starling couldn't be easier, you simply connect Yolt with the Starling bank app on your phone and ta-da! Welcome to the future. To get started, update to the latest version of Yolt and watch our video, or read the step by step below:

1. Open the Accounts tap and tap on the '+' icon in the top right.

2. Tap 'View all' and select Starling Bank from the list, your Starling app will then open automatically.

3. Log in to your Starling account and approve the integration with Yolt.

4. Yolt will then sync your account, just tap 'Get started' to enjoy Starling with Yolt.
